HOW DOES THE FITTING PROCESS WORK?

REQUEST & BOOK APPOINTMENT

Each client begins by way of a free appointment, which takes between 45 minutes and one hour. Appointments are available Thursday - Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Visit our Contact/Fitting page to book your appointment.

FIRST FITTING

Each appointment begins with a discussion of your clothing needs. The tailor will then suggest style options and will show you a range of fabrics that match your requests. The tailor will then create a unique pattern for you.

SECOND FITTING/THIRD FITTING/COLLECTION

In about 6 weeks time*, your garments are ready for your second fitting. This involves reviewing the fit of the garment against your body's requirements and your personal preference for fit. Any alterations are completed within a week.

FUTURE ORDERS

Once we have your pattern, re-ordering is easy. We store patterns and can make adjustments in order to help guide future purchases.

*Delivery times vary with cloth choice, construction, and availability. Occasional delays due to cloth availability happen from time to time.

WHAT CONSTRUCTION DO YOU OFFER?

Canvas

Our jackets employ a full-hand floating canvas using horsehair interwoven with pad-stitching. As a client, you have the option of a fully-canvassed, half-canvassed, quarter-canvassed or uncanvassed jacket.

The horsehair canvas sits between the exterior fabric and the inner silk lining and gives the jacket shape and structure. Our canvas is stitched into the jacket by hand, so it echoes the curves of the chest, gives the lapel its “roll”, and determines the integrity of the jacket. It allows the jacket to breath, feels lightweight and brings out the beautiful qualities of the cloth.  Unlike an off-the-rack jacket (which almost always contains a fused canvas), our full-hand floating canvas will not lose its shape if dampened and, instead, will mold to your body with wear, thereby allowing an even better tailored fit.

Shoulder

We offer multiple shoulder construction and styles.

Lining

Our jackets employ Japanese Bemberg lining, the standard among premium tailors. We offer fully-lined, half-lined, quarter-lined, and unlined internal lining options.

WHAT FABRICS DO YOU OFFER?

We source our fabrics from leading fabric houses and suppliers in Europe, Australia, and Japan, all of whom mill natural fibres to provide a relaxed feel to their finished cloths.
